About Magen David Sullivan Street Proposal 2012

Details

Metamechanics was approached by members of the Synagogue to develop design concepts and renderings for the purposes of converting an existing pre-school within an apartment building with a double height space at rear into a Synagogue with accessory facilities.

The proposed design included adding additional steel to the buildings frame to be exposed within the Synagogue for supporting the upper assembly seating area. The proposed materiality was kept to a minimum – wood, concrete, copper, and black painted steel.
